Here’s a rare USA-made 1997 Fender FSR Stratocaster Collector‘s Edition.
This guitar displays excellent. It was obviously well cared for and handled rarely-if at all.
This guitar was produced at the Fender factory in Corona California USA in 1997. It is a Limited edition (FSR) one of only 1997 made. It is # 1878 which is engraved on the neck plate. Guitar is 100% original Fender factory components and finish.
These guitars are very similar to a SRV signature series Stratocaster.
The guitar features deep “Pre-CBS” style contours front and rear, vintage 3-color sunburst finish with vintage tortoise shell pickguard and spring cover, ‘62-style small headstock neck with vintage “pre-cbs spaghetti“ logo, thick and nicely figured slab rosewood fingerboard and gold hardware throughout. It is a striking combination and feels as nice as it looks.
The body is in excellent condition. Finish is smooth and glossy. There is one tiny dimple above the output jack receptacle-other than that the finish is bear-new condition. Remarkable condition for a 27 year-old guitar.
The neck is smooth and perfectly straight. The neck has the classic vintage C-profile and measures .821” deep at the 1st fret and .890” deep at the 12th fret. The tuners all function Smoothly. The headstock and logo display excellent. The nut measures 1.66” wide. The fingerboard is super clean and the grain has a really unique and cool contrast-see photos.
The frets have been polished and appear like-new condition-see photos. The action is currently set low for a fast and easy playing experience. The string height is .010” at the 1st fret and .050” at the 12th fret. The guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots whatsoever. It is a lot of fun to play-once you pick it up it’s hard to put back down. The pickups are factory “Texas Special” units and all have an excellent signal. The output measures 6.07 ohms at the neck, 6.64 ohms in the middle and 7.76 ohms at the bridge. The electronics are all 100% original and feel smooth and quiet. The bridge is really clean and fully adjustable. Trem arm works smoothly with no issues. It should be noted that the Gold hardware is in exceptional condition. It is common for the gold plating to show normal signs of wear-but this guitar‘s gold is incredibly bright, shiny and in excellent condition. Guitar weighs 8.29 lbs with arm attached and feels nice and balanced. It feels comfortable on a strap or in your lap.
This guitar would make a great addition to anyone’s collection as a player, a display piece or investment-maybe even all 3!
Comes with a hard case for added protection.
