This amazing piece of Fender history was made in 1997 as the 1st run of the Limited Edition Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster. It features ALL of the Woodstock guitar's details including staggered pole piece pickups, Big CBS headstock, Synchronized Tremolo logo, Olympic White finish and most importantly: the correct Maple cap neck that gave that guitar its unique tone. This guitar comes complete with ALL of the case candy-and Im talking candy store clear out...even the original pickguard sticker is included! This is a collector's dream for sure. This guitar was purchased new back in 1997-played once or twice and then put under the bed for safe keeping. It has remained uncirculated since then until now! Guitar is 100% original and in perfect mint condition.
The body is super clean with deep contours front and rear. The Olympic white finish is glossy and looks absolutely killer. The neck plate is the special non-script Hendrix silhouette. The neck is straight and smooth and exceptionally clean. The neck profile is a typical vintage C shape and it feels amazing of course. The nut measures 1.68" (1 11/16") and the neck depth is .797" at the 1st fret and .915" deep at the 12th fret. The tuners all function smoothly. The headstock and reverse logo display awesome-flip your photo image and it looks like you're playing a real lefty. The Maple cap fingerboard is super clean. The frets are clean-maybe a little bit of whitening from just sitting around but near-new condition for sure. The action is low for a fast and easy playing experience. The string height measures .010" at the 1st fret and .040" at the 12th fret. The guitar plays really nicely with a soft touch.
The pickups sound incredible-with that classic Fender "bell" tone we all know and love. The bridge measures 5.52 ohms, the middle position 5.64 ohms and the neck 5.72 ohms. The original 3-way switch is correct-of course the optional 5-way is included in the goodie-bag. The controls all function smoothly and quietly. The original vibrato arm is also included, of course. The bridge and tree are very clean-just like the rest of the guitar.
This guitar is a super-rare Collector's dream. It would make the ultimate gift for the Hendrix fan. Comes with original Fender hard case, original keys, white coil cord, bridge cover, various fender hang tags, inspection card, certificate, stickers and additional vibrato springs. Please note: on the inspection tag; someone at the factory made a mistake on one of the digits of the serial number-they wrote down 2 when it is obviously a 3…kinda neat! Just adds a nice personal human touch in this world of electronic AI crapola.
