1995 Fender Stratocaster Special Edition Candy Apple Red matching headstock! made in USA
Here is a really nice clean example of the 1995 Fender Stratocaster Special Edition matching headstock series. This guitar was made at the Fender factory in Corona California, U.S.A. in 1995. The matching headstock looks absolutely killer! It was only offered for a short time between late 1995 and early 1996. The guitar is ready to go-it needs nothing.
The body features the nice deep contours like a '62 strat would have. The Candy apple Red finish looks really nice and the lightness/darkness changes depending on viewing angle-see photos. The clearcoat is nice and glossy and the paint looks wet. It is a striking finish for sure. There is typical light handling evidence here and there and the guitar presents very nicely-see photos.
The neck joint is solid with no issues and the neck itself is smooth and straight as an arrow. The nut measures 1.69" wide. The neck profile is like a vintage U shape. The neck depth measures .803" at the 1st fret and .878" at the 12th fret. The tuners are very clean and function smoothly.. The guitar stays in tune very well. The headstock and logo display SUPER-AWESOME! just look at it.
The rosewood fingerboard is clean and in excellent condition. The feats have been professionally leveled, crowned and polished and appear like new condition-see photos. The action is set low for an easy playing experience. It can easily be raised if you prefer a higher action. The current string height is .010" at the 1st fret and .050" at the 12th fret-the perfect-preferred action to most people. The guitar plays lights out up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots anywhere. It is a 22-fret fingerboard and feels nice everywhere you go.
The pickups all have an excellent signal. The neck pickup has been swapped for a Fender US vintage reissue purple wire with cloth-leads. The other two are original. The bridge pickup measures 5.55 ohms and the middle measures 5.92 ohms with the neck measuring 6.37 ohms. They all have an excellent balance. The only date I could read on the potentiometers was 1995 on the middle tone pot. This guitar has the original Fender stacked TBX Treble/Bass Expander feature which acts as a tone control from 1-5 at which point tone is all in.. from there up, it decreases resistance 'expanding Treble & Bass' aka a bit more push to help slice through a mix.
The pickguard, knobs etc all display mild patina-they look nicely vintage as they should for a 30-year old guitar-see photos. The bridge and vibrato all function smoothly.
The guitar weighs 8.36 lbs. and is very comfortable to play.
A used rectangular hardcase is included.
