1981 Gibson Les Daul Deluxe Gold Top
1981 Gibson Les Daul Deluxe Gold Top
Here’s a vintage 1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with the Gold Top.
Thank you Gibson for making such an amazing finish! This guitar was born on October 1st 1981 at the Nashville Tennessee USA Gibson factory. It is fairly unique in that it came with an Ebony fingerboard-just like a Les Paul Custom. It’s definitely original, as other Gibson guitars from this time period also used ebony as a substitute for the reported temporary shortage of rosewood. As you can see for yourself-the guitar is near new condition. It has no issues whatsoever and plays and sounds great. Super clean!
The solid Mahogany body is crisp and the finish is brilliant with excellent gloss. It was obviously not played much at all. There are a couple of very small and very short (less than an inch) line checks and maybe one small fingernail sized impression on the top. Otherwise it’s totally mint. Maple top is nicely carved and the binding is really clean. The neck is straight and smooth-again, it feels as close to new as you can get. I would call this neck profile a slim taper or slim-C -pretty much the common Les Paul neck contour for the time. The nut width is the desirable 1 11/16” wide size. The headstock and logo both display excellent. The fingerboard is clean and the position markers are pearl trapezoids-looking fresh. The string height is low for a fast and easy action. Frets are near new condition. The guitar plays excellent. The mini-humbucker pickups sound great and all of the electronics work as they should. The hardware is really clean-see photos. The guitar weighs 9.92lbs -kind of on the light side for this era of Les Paul models. It’s a lot of fun to play and sounds really good.
This is an excellent addition to anyone’s collection and the condition is really exceptional.
Comes with original Gibson chainsaw hard case.
