Is there anything more exciting than a vintage 1975 Fender Telecaster? Maybe. But who cares? You're here for some Walnut-themed excitement, I can tell.
So am I.
This vintage 1975 Fender Telecaster was produced at the original Fender factory in Fullerton, California U.S.A. Draggin' Guitars has carefully inspected and fully verified the guitar for authenticity. It is 100% original and in very good condition-obvious well-kept its entire life. The guitar has been professionally set up and it is now ready to go-it needs nothing.
The body features the classic Telecaster single cutaway silhouette with "slab" edges and attitude. Virtually unchanged since the model was introduced in 1952-this unit retains all of the iconic appointments as the original: Strings through body design for maximum resonance, perpendicular mounted neck pickup with "lipstick" chrome cover, diagonally mounted bridge single coil pick with exposed pole pieces, 3-saddle bridge, 3-way switch with volume and tone controls and of course-the maple neck and fingerboard provides the final ingredient for the requisite Telecaster tone: the ultimate Twang & Spank!
The original Walnut finish provides a nice view of the wood grain underneath. The coloring is very nice and incredibly even. The finish has that vintage gloss that has a beautiful reflection-see photos. There is minimal handling evidence-a few small dimples and chips along some of the edges-the most notable area would be the thin sliver of arm wear along the top edge-see photos. Overall, the body presents VERY well and looks awesome. The neck joint is a good fitment and the neck slot provides us with a perfect paint stick shadow and numerous Fender employee inspection stamps and names-see photos.
The neck itself is smooth and straight. The backside of the neck has the well-known inspection ink stamp "J.Torres" clearly visible. The neck has the standard vintage C-shaped profile and measures .880" deep at the 1st fret and 9.37" deep at the 12th fret. The neck is 1.65" wide at the nut, and the fingerboard radius is 7.25". The original F-key tuners all function smoothly. The headstock and logo display excellent with a warm vintage amber glow. The fingerboard is super clean and displays nice. The original frets have been professionally leveled, crowned and polished and look very clean-see photos. They have a good height as well. The action is set low for a fast and easy playing experience. The string height measures .010" at the 1st fret and .050" at the 12th fret. The guitar plays really nice up and down the fingerboard.
The pickups have an excellent signal and good balance. The neck pickup measures 8.00 ohms and the bridge pickup comes in at 6.77 ohms. All of the quintessential Twang & Spank is present-exactly what you want in a Telecaster. The wiring harness is in great condition and the potentiometers date to the 12th week of 1975. The controls function smoothly and quietly. The bridge and saddles are fully adjustable and in good condition. The original pickguard is nice and flat and looks spectacular.
The guitar is lots of fun to play and easy to wield. It weighs 8.58 lbs. so it's pretty average for most electrics-but on the lighter side for most 1970's Telecasters. The Tele is right at home on stage, in the studio or whoever else you need it, it is not afraid and cowers to no one. Comes complete with a nice clean Fender tweed case for protection and added enjoyment
