Here's a vintage 1973 Univox Badazz in great condition.  These guitars were manufactured at the legendary  Matsumoku factory in Matsumoto, Nagoya, Japan.  The Univox company offered many copies of popular US-made guitars, including the Guild S-100 version you see here.  This guitar is all-original including its stricken 3-color sunburst finish.   Hungry? Me too...

The body has playing wear around the edges-some spots expose the wood-see photos.  The Sunburst is still bright and unfaded and has a nice vintage vibe.   The backside is in the same condition.  The neck joint is good-as is the neck angle.  The neck profile is a medium-C shape and the girth measures .837" at the 1st fret and .842" at the 12th fret.   The nut measures 1.70" wide.  The neck itself is straight with a nice smooth feel along the backside.  The tuners function and the headstock and logo display excellent.   The logo has a really cool 'vaporwave' style which almost looks more 80's than anything-I love it.  The rosewood fingerboard is clean and the block position markers look nice.  The binding is in great condition with no issues.  The frets have been professionally leveled, crowned and polished and they have a good height.  The action is set low for easy playing.  The string height measures.010" at the 1st fret and .055" at the 12th fret.  The bridge is adjustable so you can easily raise the action if you prefer a higher touch.  The guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard with zero dead spots.

The pickups both have an excellent signal and bright tone.  The neck pickup measures 8.68 ohms and the bridge pickup measures 8.27 ohms.  They have an excellent balance.  They both have large and mini-sized pole pieces which are adjustable-a very neat feature.   The controls all function and the wiring harness is in great condition.   The tailpiece is a hagstrom-style with a tube for optional vibrato arm-which is missing.  There are a couple of screws missing from the control cavity cover-on the backside.  Although a pickguard screw is missing in the photos, it IS present and is back on the guitar now.

The guitar is a great weight-it only weighs 7.70 lbs.   It fits in your lap very nicely and swings on a strap in a great position.  It is a lot of fun to play.  Comes with soft case.
