Here is a really cool vintage 1968 Teisco EB-100 model short scale bass in its original and very awesome looking Blue finish. The Blue is similar to Fender's Lake Placid Blue as well as Mosite's Pacific Blue-it's somewhat between the two. This bass was manufactured at Teisco's Enshu guitar factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. The bass guitar is all-original and ready to play-it needs nothing. It is 100% original, and has no breaks, repairs or other funny business.
The body is an offset shape with vintage "slab" styling. It is made of Mahogany and is finished in the original Blue lacquer, which still has its nice soft vintage gloss. The finish is in really good condition. The pickguard is very nice and free of cracks and sits nice and flush on the body. The gold foil mesh pickup has a chrome surround and adjustable pole pieces. The bridge is clean, the hand rest/cover has been removed (and lost!) and it is not included. The neck joint is a clean fitment and the neck angle is excellent.
The neck is straight and the truss rod functions. It is smooth and has a really nice vintage feel. The profile is best described as a slim, soft-C shape...The neck measures 1.62" wide at the nut-same as a typical Fender Stratocaster. The neck depth measures .852" deep at the 1st fret and 9.29" deep at the 12th fret. The tuners are chrome and function smoothly. The headstock features one of the all-time best looking logos ever to be placed on a guitar: the metal badge with red white and blue Teisco logo. The original jungle-gym tension bar is present and in excellent condition. The fingerboard is a superb piece of high-contrast grain Rosewood. It is really beautiful and nice and clean with a soft velvety feel. The frets have been professionally leveled, crowned and polished. They are typical vintage-width frets and have a good height. The action is nice and low for a very easy playing experience. The string height measures .010" at the 1st fret and .080" at the 12th fret. It plays nicely everywhere on the fingerboard. The short scale makes it really easy to play for beginners and allows a very fast action for more advanced players. The flat wound strings are really mellow and add to the ease of playing. This bass can support standard wound-wound bass strings if you prefer a bit more punch and excitement.
The pickup has a good signal and soft, mellow tone. The pickup measures 5.33 ohms. The controls all function smoothly and quietly. The wiring harness is in excellent condition, also.
This bass is lots of fun to play-it is SUPER lightweight-it only weighs 6.51 lbs so it feels amazing on a strap or in your lap-NO shoulder fatigue whatsoever with this lil' baby. The offset body shape provides an excellent balance as well.
Comes with a soft case for added protection and excitement.
