Wow! This vintage 1966 Fender Stratocaster is in amazingly clean and fresh condition. This guitar was produced at the original Fender factory in Fullerton California, U.S.A. in 1966. It has date codes throughout. It is just about as close to like new as you can get. It is 100% original and very FRESH.
The 3-color sunburst glows like new. It is unfaded and looks wet. The finish is clean and smooth. On the backside-there are 2 tiny indentations maybe-no chips or scratches-it is SUPER CLEAN! The neck slot is perfect and the end of the neck is stamped 13 SEP 1966 B. The neck is clean, straight and super smooth. Classic vintage-C shape profile. The nut measures 1 5/8" wide and the neck depth is .847" at the 1st fret and .917" at the 12th fret. The tuners, headstock and logo are clean and display excellent. There is a very slight line checking on the front and back of the headstock-it is only visible at certain angles and in certain lighting...it is very slight, just enough to let you know this is a REAL vintage Fender guitar.
The fingerboard is a beautiful Brazilian rosewood with high-contrast grain that looks amazing. The frets look like new-see photos. The action is low and the guitar plays like butter. String height is .010" at the 1st fret and .050" at the 12th fret.
The pickups all have an excellent signal and balance. Bridge measures 6.22 ohms, middle position is 6.27 ohms and the neck position measures 6.25 ohms. It has the KILLER Strat sound with quintessential Fender "Bell" tone. The grey bobbin pickups are hand date-coded 11-14-66. The harness and controls are all very clean and function smoothly. The original Stackpole potentiometers date to the 8th week of 1966. The pickguard is super flat and crisp. The bridge, saddles and vibrato all function smoothly and are clean clean CLEAN!
This guitar has a great feel and nice light weight- it only weighs 7.82 lbs! It is super comfortable. As soon as you pick it up and play it you can feel and hear the amazing resonance. You won't want to put it back down.
This guitar comes with the original vibrato arm and chrome bridge cover. The original hard case is also included, of course.
