Here is a really solid vintage 1964 Fender Jaguar.  The guitar has lots of vibe and is extremely solid.  It sounds, plays and feels as good as it looks...maybe even better. This guitar is 100% original and has been professionally set up and is ready to go-it needs nothing.

This guitar was made in 1964 at the original Fender Factory in Fullerton California, U.S.A.   This Jaguar has many Pre-CBS features including Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, deep body contours, beautiful 3-color sunburst with vibrant coloring and the quintessential cellulose tortoiseshell pickguard.  This guitar has been set up and is one of the best playing Jaguars I've had the pleasure of owning-and I have had many.  The tone is also one of the best I have had or heard ever.  Its a winner.

The body has wear all over with most being on the sides-see photos.  The contours are deep and the guitar feels great against your body.  The finish shines really nice and the sunburst bands of color blend together exceptionally.   There are wear marks and some evidence of light sticker shadows in a couple of spots-nothing major at all, very unnoticeable and hard to see at first glance-see photos.  There is all kinds of 'patina' or 'mojo' or whatever you want to call it-let's just go with 'killer vibe' ok?  There is some wear on the back as well-but again, the finish is vibrant and looks great.   Screams REAL VINTAGE PRE-CBS guitar.

The neck joint is solid and the neck angle is great.  Factory neck shim and employees' inspection marks in the neck slot.  The neck itself is stamped November 1964 and has the standard B width:  1.62" wide at the nut (1 5/8" if you are olde school).  The neck is smooth and straight with light wear.  It has the classic vintage C profile and measures .819" deep at the 1st fret and .967" deep at the 12th fret. It feels really nice and comfortable with zero drag.  The truss rod functions as designed.  The tuners all function well and look great.  The headstock and logo display excellent.  The metallic gold in the logo is nice and catches the light just right.    The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is clean and feels great.  The pearloid dot postition markers shine nicely.  The frets have been professionally leveled, crowned and polished and appear near-new condition-see photos.  The action is set low for an easy and fast playing experience.  Current string height is .010" at the 1st fret and .045" at the 12th fret.  The guitar plays excellent up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots anywhere.  It is fabulous.   Of course the bridge is fully adjustable if you prefer a higher action.

The pickups have an excellent signal and balance.  The neck pickup position reads 6.37 ohms and the bridge position reads 6.66 ohms!  Excellent brilliance and that amazing vintage Fender 'bell' chime tone that we all lust for.  Controls all function smoothly and quietly.  The original cloth wiring harness is in excellent original condition-very worth noting especially considering that these guitars have typically had someone mess around with something at sometime (and somewhere) in the last 60 years.  The potentiometers date to the 50th week of 1964-making this guitar a late December 1964 piece, in fact-one of the last of the 1964's.

The vibrato functions but somehow-sometime-somewhere-someone who knows more than I do lost it.  But they didn't lose the case-and that's a big plus...It is a very hard to find Fender non-logo late 1964-65 only unit.  Two of the 3 latches don't function because somehow-sometime-somewhere-someone did something and broke them.  Lets just blame it on the drummer, Ok?

The guitar has an excellent weight ( 7.91 lbs.) and is very lightweight for a Jaguar.  As previously mentioned, it feels very comfortable whether on a strap or in your lap.  This is the perfect player's instrument-it is at home in the studio, on stage or just in your lap on the couch.   It is an excellent value for an all-original Pre-CBS Fender guitar and won't last long here.
